KNAU Representatives Participate in Erasmus+ Study Visit on Digital Transformation of Doctoral Education at Vilnius University
From May 25 to 29, 2026, representatives of the K.I. Skryabin Kyrgyz National Agrarian University (KNAU), together with delegates from 8 partner universities of the Kyrgyz Republic, participated in a study visit and training seminar at Vilnius University (Lithuania) within the framework of the Erasmus+ project “Digital Transformation for Inclusive Doctoral Education in Kyrgyzstan (D-TIDE-KG)”. The event was dedicated to exploring advanced European experience in the digitalization of doctoral education, research management, and the integration of digital tools into educational processes.
During the visit, participants became familiar with the activities of Vilnius University, including academic program governance systems, quality assurance practices, international accreditation, and research communication. Meetings were held with the university’s leadership, where discussions focused on the internationalization of higher education, the development of research collaboration, and the strengthening of partnerships between universities in Kyrgyzstan and Lithuania.
Particular attention was given to the digital transformation of research activities and PhD education. Experts presented digital solutions for research project management, monitoring doctoral student progress, and modern approaches to organizing doctoral programs. Participants also visited research laboratories and were introduced to the application of digital technologies in scientific research.
The seminar program included the study of digital educational technologies, blended and online learning practices, as well as digital systems for doctoral support based on the Moodle platform. Effective models for admissions processes and the digitalization of applicant selection and student support were also discussed.
The final day of the visit was held in the format of a field seminar “Vilnius as a Digital City,” focusing on the digital transformation of urban environments and the potential application of digital ecosystems in education and research. As a result of the visit, participants developed recommendations for implementing the studied practices in Kyrgyz universities and for further development of a digital platform for doctoral training.
The study visit marked an important milestone in the implementation of the D-TIDE-KG project and will contribute to the introduction of modern digital solutions in doctoral education and the improvement of the quality of research training in the Kyrgyz Republic in line with international standards.
