Delegation from MATE University Visits the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University

From March 3 to March 8, 2026, the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Skryabin hosted a working delegation from the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE). The delegation was headed by Dr. József Zsembeli (MATE). The delegation also included Schmidt Ádám J. (MATE) and István Molnár, CEO of Agrár-Béta Kft.

The purpose of the visit was to familiarize the delegation with the characteristics of the pilot sites within the framework of the project “Dissemination of Drought-Resistant Crops in Batken Region.”

During the visit, the joint working group of KNAU and MATE traveled to Batken Region, where meetings were held with the head of the District Department of Agrarian Development (RUAD), representatives of local self-government bodies (Aiyl Okmotu), and local farmers.

As a result of the meetings, land plots for the implementation of the project were identified, and drought-resistant agricultural crops planned for planting in 2026 were selected.

The next stage of the project will involve the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Agrár-Béta Kft. and the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University. This agreement will contribute to strengthening scientific cooperation between the organizations and to the development of joint initiatives aimed at introducing drought-resistant agricultural crops in the Batken Region.
