On October 24, 2025, a seminar was held at the K. I. Skryabin Kyrgyz National Agrarian University (KNAU) as part of the forum “Business, Ecology, and Sport — Ak-Ilbirs 2025.” The event was organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The event was attended by students from the KNAU Faculty of Hydromelioration, Ecology, and Land Management, the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection, as well as students from the K. Karasayev Bishkek State University (BSU).

Opening remarks were delivered by the Head of Environmental Education at NABU (Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union) in the Kyrgyz Republic, Altyn Kazakbayeva, along with her assistants and colleagues, and by NABU Monitoring Department employee Omurbek Kadyrov, who demonstrated a camera trap.

NABU staff highlighted the critical decline in the snow leopard population resulting from the intensified pasturing and development of high-mountain territories.

Engaging presentations were given by BSU students: Caroline Mirlanova, Isan Myktybekov, and Bayel Bakirov, as well as KNAU students: Mansur Alyshbaev (1st year), Medina Turdubek kyzy (3rd year), and Bekzod Usmanov (3rd year).

Each presentation sparked a lively response and discussion, transforming the seminar into a platform for active exchange of opinions. In conclusion, all presenters were awarded participation certificates. Overall, the seminar was a success, strengthening ecological cooperation between the universities and building a bridge from theory to practical conservation work with the direct involvement of students.
