The Kyrgyz National Agrarian University n.a. K.I. Skryabin (KNAU) started started building a demonstration fish farm (DFF) under the project "Capacity Building in Fisheries and Aquaculture Education in the Kyrgyz Republic (FishEDU)". The project implemented by KNAU and the University of Eastern Finland, which is financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland through Higher Education Institutes Institutional Cooperation Instrument (HEI ICI) programme. The construction of the DFF is being carried out by LCC “AquaPlast”.

The establishment of a demonstration fish farm is one of the main components of the FishEDU project, which aims to: build the educational capacity of KNAU to develop training in fisheries and aquaculture.

Dear friends!

Welcome to the updated official website of the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K. I. Skryabin. 
I am very glad that you showing interest to our university and offering to use important and interesting information, which is presenting to your attention our website.  

You have a unique opportunity to become active participants which take place only at the agricultural university of Kyrgyzstan, education, scientific-research, international and cultural events. 
On our website you can get to know with the history of the university, its structural units, to obtain information about the leading agricultural scientists, scientific research, international conferences and competitions, etc.

In recent years the University has made significant progress in cooperation with international institutions such as the world Bank (WB), food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the UN Development Programme (UNDP), global Environment Fund (GEF), the Japanese international cooperation Agency (JICA), the world food Programme (WFP), International research centers (ICARDA, CIMMYT, IFPRI. Established strong links with foreign universities in Europe, Asia and the CIS countries for the exchange of students, teachers and research results. As a result of this activity in the University updated the machine-tractor fleet with new Japanese technology (JICA), the laboratory for research of soil, water and the water Museum (GEF) is the only one in Central Asia. With the financial support of the World Bank initiated targeted training of veterinarians for all regions of Kyrgyz Republic and improving teaching and laboratory facilities of the faculty.

Together Chenansk Institute of technology (PRC) initiated the creation of a technological Park in the Experimental Farm of the University. Currently, at the university has been working the center of international Master's and PhD. programs.

Academic fellowships announced for locust studies

Two grants to finance two-year Master of Science (MS) degrees on locust issues are available under the FAO-Turkey Partnership Programme. The fellowships are part of FAO’s “Programme to improve national and regional locust management in Central Asia and Caucasus.”
The fellowships are open to nationals of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan who hold a university degree in agriculture, agronomy, plant protection or entomology.
FAO invites interested students to apply. Application forms and related information are available in the right-hand column of this page.
Deadline for submission 15 March 2016.
